
Mentaiko Cheese Toast with Shiso – Aohata Verde French Bread Recipe
This mentaiko cheese toast gets a fresh twist from shredded shiso leaves layered over melty cheese and Aohata Verde Mentaiko Toast Spread. Served on crispy French bread, it’s a perfect Japanese-inspired appetizer or snack.
Ingredients (Serves 2)
- 6 slices French bread (approx. 1.5cm thick)
- 3 tablespoons shredded pizza cheese
- 3 fresh shiso leaves, finely shredded
- Approx. 4g Aohata Verde Mentaiko Toast Spread per slice (about 2 arrows on the package)
Instructions
- Spread Aohata Verde Mentaiko Toast Spread on each slice of French bread. Top with pizza cheese.
- Place slices on a baking tray and toast in a toaster oven until golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from oven and top with shredded shiso leaves. Serve immediately.
Tip: For extra texture, add a light sprinkle of sesame seeds before toasting. This pairs wonderfully with tea or sake.
