Cabbage & Sausage Pizza Sandwich with Kewpie Basil Pizza Sauce

This warm and savory sandwich layers shredded cabbage and juicy sausage over a base of Kewpie Basil Pizza Sauce, all held together by crisp toasted bread. A flavorful Japanese-style twist on a pizza melt.

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 2 slices of sandwich bread (6-slice cut)
  • 1/2 leaf of cabbage (approx. 30g), finely shredded
  • 2 sausages (approx. 40g), boiled and halved lengthwise
  • 3 tablespoons Kewpie Basil Pizza Sauce

Instructions

  1. Finely shred the cabbage. Boil the sausages in hot water, then cut each one in half lengthwise.
  2. Toast both slices of bread in a toaster oven until lightly crisped.
  3. Spread Kewpie Basil Pizza Sauce on the inner side of one toast slice. Layer with shredded cabbage and sausage.
  4. Top with the second toast slice, cut in half, and serve warm.

Tip: For a cheesier version, add shredded cheese before toasting. This sandwich also packs well for lunch on the go.
