This refreshing salad combines sweet, crisp julienned carrot with savory prosciutto and thinly sliced onion. Tossed in a mustard dressing made from Kewpie Separated French Dressing and coarse-grain mustard, it’s a flavorful side that comes together in minutes.

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 5 cm section of carrot (approx. 50g), julienned
  • 1/4 onion (approx. 47g), thinly sliced and soaked in water, then drained
  • 3 slices prosciutto (approx. 15g), halved
  • 2 leaves red leaf lettuce (approx. 40g), torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Kewpie Separated French Dressing
  • 2 teaspoons Kewpie Coarse-Grain Mustard

Instructions

  1. Julienne the carrot. Thinly slice the onion, soak in water to mellow the flavor, and drain. Cut prosciutto in half.
  2. Rinse the red leaf lettuce in cold water and tear into pieces.
  3. Arrange the carrot, onion, prosciutto, and lettuce on a plate. Mix the dressing and mustard, and drizzle over the salad.

Tip: The carrot can also be lightly blanched for a softer texture. Adjust dressing and mustard to taste.
