
Mentaiko Cheese Bake with Potato & Broccoli – Aohata Verde Recipe
This comforting cheese bake features tender potato slices, broccoli florets, and melty cheese, all enhanced with the bold flavor of Aohata Verde Mentaiko Toast Spread. A great side dish or light meal with a spicy cod roe kick.
Ingredients (Serves 2)
- 1 large potato, peeled and sliced into 5mm rounds
- 1/2 head broccoli, cut into small florets
- 2 slices cooking cheese (meltable)
- 1.5 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons Aohata Verde Mentaiko Toast Spread (approx. 15 arrows on the package)
Instructions
- Boil the potato slices in salted water until just tender. Drain and set aside.
- Boil broccoli in salted water until bright green and tender. Drain well.
- Lightly grease a heat-safe baking dish with a bit of the mentaiko spread (not included in listed amount).
- Layer broccoli and potatoes in the dish. Spread the Aohata Verde Mentaiko Toast Spread evenly on top.
- Cover with meltable cheese slices and sprinkle with Parmesan.
- Toast in a toaster oven for about 5 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden.
Tip: For an extra crispy finish, broil briefly at the end. This dish pairs perfectly with rice or crusty bread.
